COURSE BRIEF

Composition and Writing Techniques is designed to enhance students' writing abilities by focusing on various forms of composition. It teaches students how to structure their thoughts logically, develop different essay types, and communicate ideas effectively through writing.

SCHEME / OUTLINE

Pre-Writing Activities and Basic Sentence Patterns:

Covers planning, brainstorming, organizing ideas, and sentence structure essentials like subject-verb agreement.

The Grammar of Paragraphs and Beyond the Sentence:

Focuses on paragraph development, punctuation, sentence connections, and lexical tools like synonyms and collocations for coherence.

3. Essay Writing Techniques:

Teaches students how to write narrative, descriptive, expository, and argumentative essays with attention to detail, structure, and clarity.
